I find the question of where one can find remote work is increasingly common, and it seems to crop up a lot in the popular Remote Work Malaysia Facebook group, which I help out at in my spare time.
I find the easiest way for me to address repeating questions is often with a blog post, so I’m going to put a list here and update it as often as I can. Most of the sites here came from Aster in the group, which I think is really helpful.
Important disclaimer: While I’m going to curate and explore these links as best I can, I’m not vetting them all myself, so give it a go at your own risk. I’ll keep this list updated as best as I can.

Freelance sites
Alternatively, if you’re looking to go the freelance route, here is a list of the more popular freelancing sites where you can search for freelance jobs or conversely hire freelancers.
If you need help getting started, I see Kenny has written a useful article on how to make money on Upwork and also how much you can make on Upwork.
Upskill
If you’re looking to upskill to increase your chances of landing a remote job, there is a short introduction in the group about MDEC’s Glow Malaysia program. To Malaysian government also operates the National Training Week website where you can receive various types of training for free. I’ll add other links to sites where you can upskill (paid and/or free) here as well.
Conclusion
I hope you find this list useful. If you feel that I should add or remove anything from this list, feel free to contact me.
